Company history
Goodal was founded in 2012 by longtime friends and business partners, Sarah Kim and Jiwon Park. Both Sarah and Jiwon had struggled with various skin issues throughout their lives, from acne and sensitivity to premature aging. Frustrated by the lack of truly effective and natural skincare options on the market, they decided to create their own line.
Drawing inspiration from their Korean heritage and the ancient principles of holistic wellness, they began extensively researching and formulating products using locally-sourced, organic botanicals and time-honored ingredients like ginseng, green tea, and bamboo. Their goal was to harness the powerful benefits of nature in clean, ethical formulas that would nourish and protect all skin types.
The brand launched in 2014 with a small collection of multi-tasking essentials like their Green Tangerine Vita C Serum and Moisture Barrier Cream. Word quickly spread about the exceptional quality and visible results of Goodal’s products. By 2017, they had garnered a devoted following and expanded distribution across Asia.
As the brand grew, so did its mission. Goodal partnered with local growers, committing to sustainable harvesting and fair trade practices. They also unveiled eco-friendly packaging and a zero-waste initiative.
Today, Goodal is an award-winning, global skincare brand available in over 20 countries. While the company has expanded its scientific research and development, it remains rooted in its philosophy of harnessing nature’s goodness through ethical, results-driven formulas for all. With Sarah and Jiwon’s daughters now taking active roles, Goodal continues to be a family-owned company dedicated to promoting total skin and body wellness for generations to come.
